Jorge Perez DeJesus

Jorge Pérez de Jesús has been a Fluency Fast instructor since 2015 (http://fluencyfast.com). However, he has been teaching ESL and Spanish as a TPRS practitioner (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling) since 2000. He incorporates many Comprehensible Input methods in his classes based on Dr. Stephen Krashen’s Second Language Acquisition theories. He strongly believes that anyone can acquire a second language given enough compelling and comprehensible input.

Jorge is originally from Puerto Rico. He has traveled extensively and worked in countries in the continents of Europe, North America, Africa and Asia. He and his family love to travel and learn about new cultures.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Western Illinois University in Spanish and History. He also earned and a Master of Arts in Teaching from North Park University. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Latin American literature at Purdue University.

One recent participant of the Fluency Fast weekend stated, "Had my very first Spanish lesson with Jorge Perez de Jesus this past weekend! Started with only two words "Hola and Donde" and left with 68 words of summary for the first two chapters of "Las aventuras de Isabela" and a drive to acquire more Spanish! Most of all, sitting in Jorge's classroom to learn Spanish and observing him teach make me reflect what I do in my classroom." Yiyi Yu
