Purpose, Passion, and Connection through Global Ed
Limited Capacity seats available

These days, global education isn’t code for world history and extended social studies units. Learn how to strengthen your lessons by integrating globally-collaborative projects into your classroom in an organic manner, no matter the subject or grade-level you teach. In a world with disintegrating borders, it’s time us educators step up to the plate to promote worldwide purpose, passion, and –you guessed it—connection.

Yeah, Prove It!
Limited Capacity filling up

Based on Erik Palmer's new book, Good Thinking (published in April, 2016), teachers of all subject matters will learn how to transform the activities they already use into openings for improving student thinking. Developing reasoning skills will also improve their oral and written communication, which are very important for their future success in the real world. Sandy will share classroom-tested lessons to help students understand the principles of good arguments and proper use of evidence. Many of these lessons were created and tested in Sandy's classroom, since she is one of the featured teachers in Erik's book.
Participants will have opportunities to explore these lessons during the workshop. Plus, Erik Palmer and Stenhouse have generously donated copies of Good Thinking for a few lucky participants. One of them could be you!
Last year at Summer Spark, Sandy presented on speaking skills: namely PVLEGS. Argument and reasoning skills provide the backbone for strong speaking. Attend this session and learn fun and engaging ways to give your students these skills.
