While computer programming is a central element of video game design, creating a successful game requires a multitude of other skills that do not require the use of technology. To create a compelling game, students must utilize creative problem solving, design thinking and perspective taking; as well as tap into their skills as creative writers, researchers, teachers, artists, critics and storytellers.
